Fall is just about here, babe, and if you're anything like me, you're growing stronger by the day as the fall solstice comes. I love fall fragrances, but there’s something about the dip in temperature and growing dark evenings that really gets me excited. With that, here are some of my favorite fragrances for Fall 2024:
Jaipur Chai // Ineke
Originally inspired by a rainy day in San Francisco and a warm chai, this fragrance feels so warm and indulgent. It has notes of black tea, cardamom, cinnamon, rose, cedarwood, cream, and musk. To me, this scent is overwhelmingly warm and spicy, but tapers off into a warm, creamy note. I find it to be very comforting and think it’d make for a nice fragrance in the late fall months leading to winter, as there is quite a heavy cinnamon note. Because of that cinnamon note, I would recommend getting a sample, which you can purchase decanted from Ministry of Scent. The wear time on this is wonderful; I got about 6 hours out of it on my skin, and far longer on my clothes.
Way With Woods // Snif
I adore this scent for a clean fall day. It has notes of white tea, mandarin, sandalwood, amber woods, vetiver, and musk. I most noticeably get notes of vetiver, especially on the dry down. This fragrance is pretty versatile, but I think it would work best for workdays in the office as it’s not too overpowering, or for running errands. It’s got a bit of citrus and a green element, which I think helps balance it out a bit and could make it good for transitional months. I appreciate Snif’s approach to fragrance; they offer affordable, clean formulas that allow you to trial prior to purchasing.
Stag // The Maker
I’ve said it a million times, and I’ll say it again: The Maker can do no wrong. I think a number of their scents could work for fall; however, I find that Stag is particularly good given its agarwood, palo santo, red grapefruit, bergamot, incense, and leather notes. This scent is so sexy—like making out on a leather couch while a fire burns in a beautiful vintage marble fireplace in the background. It just makes me feel so elevated. Its wear time is exceptional, exceeding eight hours. Might I suggest this if you are looking to really impress someone?
Band of Outlaws // West Third Brand
This fragrance is great for all situations. I find it wears close to the skin, making it better for casual wear. I think it could also work for a lot of people; it’s a sweeter smoke scent with some powdery notes coming through. Notes include sandalwood, cedarwood, leather, iris, violet, cardamom, and musk. It has a really great price point given its projection and versatility.
Whiskey // Thin Wild Mercury
As an ode to an iconic rock club on the Sunset Strip, it’s familiar comfort while also being deeply mysterious. Make no mistake, this is a sexy, boozy scent. Notes of pink pepper, cardamom, raspberry, nutmeg, cedarwood, and bourbon amber make this scent really special and uniquely different from other boozy scents. It’s sweet, but not in a sugary sweet kind of way—it’s almost savory. It also has one of the best wear times of any fragrance I’ve ever tried. I smell this on my skin all day, and I love smelling it on my cashmere sweater the next day. Go be hot, and wear this.
Duro // Nasomatto
Perhaps one of the most powerful and strong fragrances on the list, this is a fragrance for the true woodsy lovers. It includes notes of leather, spices, and woods; however, I find leather to be the most prevalent component. It does lean a bit more masculine, but I think it’s for anyone. I think it’d be perfect for more intimate moments, as it’s a bit more intense. It has quite a nice wear time, exceeding eight hours. It’s very luxurious, like the supple leather of a chevre Birkin bag.
Hinoki Fantôme // Boy Smells
This scent includes notes of patchouli, fir balsam, tobacco leaves, black pepper, and oakmoss. A true classic woodsy scent with a touch of aromatic spices lets this fragrance change throughout wear. It starts rather sharp and smoky, but at the hour mark turns into something much sweeter, allowing for the tobacco to come through. I find this to have a mild projection and could honestly be a wonderful layering fragrance, especially if you have a scent that you want to lean a bit more earthy.
Char // Henry Rose
Sweet wood, but with a twist. It has notes of vetiver, orange flower, patchouli, tonka bean, and ginger. So there is that earthy scent, but it’s spiced and sweetened up just a bit. Think charred vanilla. I do think there’s a world in which this works for the office, as it’s not particularly strong. The wear time is about 3-4 hours. This scent is good for fall but isn’t so predictable.
Rose 31 // Le Labo
I wanted to include one floral scent on this list, just for the freaks that love smelling like a flower shop. I think Rose 31 does a good job of smelling earthy and floral; it’s less perfumed than other floral fragrances. Notes of rose, cedar, cumin, and musk. I got this scent by chance in a Liberty London gift set and thought I’d really dislike it. Jokes on me, because it’s now my go-to floral. I do find that it wears closer to the skin, as most Le Labo scents do. This could be really nice for a variety of occasions. I do think this is great in the liquid version, but I think the oil formula is where it really shines; it has a far better wear time as well.

Happy smelling babes!
