Spring 2025 Fragrance Edit

Spring is here, and with it comes the luxurious energy of Taurus season. As the world turns green, flowers bloom under the sun, and the days stretch longer, it’s the perfect time to explore fresh, new fragrances.

Personally, I’m drawn to wet, earthy scents—something crisp, dewy, and alive with nature. My go-to during this time is Jade Vines by Regime des Fleurs. It smells like ivy climbing the walls of a Victorian mansion or the misty air of a morning meadow. But spring calls for variety, so I’ve rounded up my top fragrance picks for 2025, featuring everything from sweet gourmands to warm skin scents and herbal green notes.

Régime des Fleurs Crushed Fruits perfume bottle alongside a classical still life painting of fruits, seafood, and fine glassware, representing a rich, opulent, and decadent scent experience.

Crushed Fruits by Regime Des Fleurs

Crushed Fruits is the stuff of dark romantic still life paintings from 1600s–1800s Europe. Think Jacob Vosmaer, Nicolaes van Veerendael, and Margareta Haverman. Its notes include plum, raspberry seed, peach skin, cognac, jasmine sambac absolute, rose hips, bitter orange tree wood, pineapple husk, and amber. Things start very fruity and sweet—almost juicy. On the dry-down, a much more floral scent comes through with some powdery elements. They’re not overwhelming, though—just enhancing. I don’t consider this a good blind buy, as it seems to settle differently on everyone. For me, it pulled very jasmine-forward with a strong hit of raspberry. It’s compelling and demure, but not predictable for spring. My luxury pick of the season.

Montage Eau Matcha perfume bottle paired with a luxurious green velvet sofa and black-and-white checkered flooring, reflecting a sophisticated, creamy matcha-inspired fragrance.

Eau Matcha by Montage

At first sniff, I fell deeply, madly in love with Matcha 26 by Le Labo—but I couldn’t justify the price. Enter: Eau Matchaby Montage, the perfect dupe, and my affordable pick. I’ve compared the two scents side by side, and aside from a slight difference in sharpness, I find them 99% identical. More than that, I find Eau Matcha has even better projection. So what makes this scent so special? It’s the green, woody aromatics. Notes of fig, matcha tea, cedar, orange, and vetiver. I very strongly get the fig, vetiver, and matcha. I can’t even begin to explain how engulfing this scent is. It’s warm and fresh—the most beautiful parts of spring. A true mood elevator.

Clue Morel Map perfume bottle set next to an image of a person lying in tall green grass, capturing the earthy, damp, and natural elements of a forest-inspired scent.

Morel Map by Clue

This is for the lovers of moss, dirt, and greenhouse mornings. A beautifully ozonic, damp green scent that makes you feel like you're walking through a forest right after an April rainstorm. With notes of birch leaf, balsam fir needle, red currant, violet leaf, galbanum, morel mushrooms, oakmoss, dead elm tree, and forest floor, it sounds a bit wild—but don’t be scared off by the mushroom. It’s subtle, if even noticeable at all. Instead, you get a fresh, vibrant, mossy scent that feels grounded and wearable. Perfect for office days, Sunday errands, or curling up with a book.

D’ORSAY Dandy or not.G.A. perfume bottle next to the entrance of Bergdorf Goodman, conveying luxury, elegance, and refined sophistication in fragrance.

Dandy or not.G.A. by D’ORSAY

If you're looking for endless sophistication, this is it—the smell of elegant lunches in beautiful department stores. Think Bergdorf’s in spring. Imagine lingering through the fine leather goods section, maybe fine jewelry too, and after hours of being surrounded by beauty, you sit down for an intimate date with yourself. I love this fragrance because it works for both fall and spring. Notes of black tea, leather accord, and cardamom keep this scent warm. The leather isn’t overpowering or overly masculine; the tea note adds just enough nuance to elevate it.

Berdoues Somei Yoshino perfume bottle alongside a picturesque fountain surrounded by blooming cherry blossoms, evoking soft floral, airy, and delicate springtime aromas.

Somei Yoshino by Berdoues

Spring is a reset, a return to light and softness—and Somei Yoshino captures that feeling perfectly. Inspired by Japanese cherry blossoms, this scent features cherry blossom, shiso, jasmine sambac, and patchouli. Don’t be fooled by its familiar floral name—this isn’t your mall-era Bath & Body Works cherry blossom. This is refined, dewy, and elevated. I especially love the way the jasmine lingers on the dry-down. It makes me think of crisp white linens, open windows, and a soft breeze. It’s clean and joyful, like the first warm day of spring.

Essential Parfums Bois Impérial perfume bottle paired with a scene from Miss Congeniality featuring pageant contestants on a trolley, symbolizing bold, confident, and regal scent notes.

Bois Impérial by Essential Parfums

Slick, direct, and to the point. I love this for daily wear. It has excellent projection and lasts about 10 hours—at a price that makes it extra attractive. A spicy green fragrance, heavy on vetiver. Notes include akigalawood, vetiver, basil, patchouli, and ambroxin. The ambroxin adds versatility. It feels delicate but impactful. Like a perfect stroll in the park. You know the day—April 25th. (Yes, Miss Congeniality reference.)

D.S. & Durga Big Sur Eucalyptus perfume bottle next to an image of a coastal home surrounded by lush green trees and the Pacific Ocean, evoking fresh, herbal, and woody fragrance notes.

Big Sur Eucalypts by D.S & Durga

While I haven’t had the pleasure of visiting Big Sur in spring, I’ve had the proxy experience through this fragrance. A lovely green option with woody notes, perfect for transitioning from cold to warm. It opens with a punchy, crisp spiciness. Notes include wet wood, eucalyptus globulus, cardamom, rosemary, magnolia, dry leaves, and cypress. On first spritz, the eucalyptus is very strong—it opens you up like steam in a shower. On the dry-down, things shift into a spicy, herbal direction. The projection is solid—not too loud, but still makes a statement.

Guerlain L’Instant de Guerlain Eau de Parfum bottle next to an image of ballet dancers in gold-toned costumes, capturing the essence of elegance, grace, and timeless femininity.

L'Instant de Guerlain Eau de Parfum by Guerlain

Perhaps the most avant-garde scent on the list. This has all the practicalities of ballet. This fragrance is an awakening. Notes include honey, bergamot, mandarin orange, ylang-ylang, magnolia, jasmine, and amber. The amber is rich but not overpowering, and the citrus notes keep things from becoming too sweet or one-note. I do find the jasmine lingers more as it wears—around six hours for me. It’s chic, practical, and a perfect way to bring a bit of avant-garde into the everyday.

Hilde Soliani Orgasmo perfume bottle paired with an iconic scene of Michelle Pfeiffer in Scarface, embodying seductive, glamorous, and intoxicating fragrance notes.

Orgasmo by Hilde Soliani

A wonderful option for cool spring evenings heading into summer. This scent is a pure homage to Amaretto—so much so, that it’s essentially the only note aside from almond. It’s a scent for a very specific mood. Think Elvira Hancock in Scarface—boozy, warm, direct, and forward. Being a gourmand, there’s a bit of creaminess to it. As it dries, it leans slightly waxy. But if you want something bold and seductive, this is it.
